BIODIVERSE PALO VERDE

Palo Verde is one of the most biodiverse regions in the entire world. There is no better place in Guanacaste to spot animals and birds than boating down the Palo Verde River. Boats are available as a group tour or private rental. Be sure to arrange for lunch at one of the historic plantation houses lining the river. We recommend El Viejo Wetlands just outside Filadelphia, an hour's drive from Casa Blanca. This tour can also be paired with a Costa Rican lunch in a typical "soda" - local eatery that serves traditional cuisine.

Duration: 4-5 hours

Local Tip: The best tour of the day is first thing in the morning. Head out at 7:00am to catch the boat at 8:30am. Stop at Copper and Stone for smoothies to take on the road with you.
